It’s taken awhile to track down the cause of these crashes but I finally found what appears to be the culprit - Paragon’s NTFS For Mac Version 14.2.359. I’ve conducted several tests using two different brand 1TB external hard drives connected to two different side-by-side USB ports (which, by the way caused no problems whatsoever until my recent upgrade to Paragon NTFS For Mac Version 14.2.359. One factor that I can verify without a doubt - as soon as NTFS For Mac is disabled through System Preferences, the system crashes stop. At this point I have the external hard drives connected to the USB ports with NTFS For Mac disabled and have not experienced any system crashes. Below is a copy of my latest system crash report. It should be noted that when one or both external hard drives were connected to a USB port with NTFS For Mac enabled, system crashes occurred at intervals of 15 minutes to half an hour after each recovery from a previous crash. As you can see this made my entire system unusable. I look forward to hearing from you once you’ve had an opportunity to review my current information and decide what is the best way to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, due to a strict number of characters limited per post (here on your forum) my crash report has been significantly truncated.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ System Crash 5 - Sunday September 11 2016 - 12:43 PM - I was watching an YouTube video for about 10 minutes - then the screen froze and the system crashed & rebooted Anonymous UUID: 2B45D950-7346-CF95-CC71-637E7E1F3EFA Sunday September 11 2016 12:42:38 *** Panic Report *** panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff80245ce6fa): Kernel trap at 0xffffff7fa4c2a705, type 13=general protection, registers: CR0: 0x0000000080010033, CR2: 0x0000000109ad7070, CR3: 0x000000050c84405f, CR4: 0x00000000001626e0 RAX: 0xdeadbeefdeadbeef, RBX: 0xffffff808e3549f8, RCX: 0x00000000031f0000, RDX: 0xffffff8061ec37b0 RSP: 0xffffff83ca8db0d0, RBP: 0xffffff83ca8db390, RSI: 0x0000000000000000, RDI: 0xffffff808e3549f8 R8: 0xffffff807d802690, R9: 0x0000000000000000, R10: 0xffffff80247002c0, R11: 0x0000000000000000 R12: 0xffffff8098eb4408, R13: 0x7f167b6dbd18009e, R14: 0xffffff80719b6000, R15: 0xffffff83ca8db3b0 RFL: 0x0000000000010246, RIP: 0xffffff7fa4c2a705, CS: 0x0000000000000008, SS: 0x0000000000000010 Fault CR2: 0x0000000109ad7070, Error code: 0x0000000000000000, Fault CPU: 0x2, PL: 0 Backtrace (CPU 2), Frame : Return Address 0xffffff83bf485df0 : 0xffffff80244dab52 0xffffff83bf485e70 : 0xffffff80245ce6fa 0xffffff83bf486050 : 0xffffff80245ec563 0xffffff83bf486070 : 0xffffff7fa4c2a705 0xffffff83ca8db390 : 0xffffff80247257cc 0xffffff83ca8db410 : 0xffffff80247005af 0xffffff83ca8db840 : 0xffffff8024977974 0xffffff83ca8db8a0 : 0xffffff80246fb802 0xffffff83ca8db8f0 : 0xffffff802471a784 0xffffff83ca8db9a0 : 0xffffff8024706358 0xffffff83ca8dbbe0 : 0xffffff8024707023 0xffffff83ca8dbf60 : 0xffffff8024a28701 0xffffff83ca8dbfb0 : 0xffffff80245ecd66Kernel Extensions in backtrace: com.paragon-software.filesystems.ntfs(359.2.14)[B6740664-1EED-3843-84CD-0D008D33D52E]@0xffffff7fa4c21000->0xffffff7fa4c55fff BSD process name corresponding to current thread: mdworker Boot args: nvda_drv=1 Mac OS version: 15G1004 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 15.6.0: Monday August 29 2016 20:21:34 PDT; root:xnu-3248.60.11~1/RELEASE_X86_64 Kernel UUID: E349749B-3303-3DDF-959C-B5885A0E1F6E Kernel slide: 0x0000000024200000 Kernel text base: 0xffffff8024400000 __HIB text base: 0xffffff8024300000 System model name: iMac13,2 (Mac-FC02E91DDD3FA6A4) System uptime in nanoseconds: 24528424470205 last loaded kext at 18337520745262: com.apple.driver.AppleXsanScheme 3 (addr 0xffffff7fa77f1000, size 32768) last unloaded kext at 18682375180691: com.apple.driver.AppleXsanScheme 3 (addr 0xffffff7fa77f1000, size 32768) loaded kexts: com.nvidia.CUDA 1.1.0 com.techsmith.TACC 1.0.2 com.globaldelight.driver.Boom2Device 1.1 com.paragon-software.filesystems.ntfs 359.2.14 com.corel.painter.PainterAudioDriver 1 com.nvidia.web.GeForceWeb 10.1.1 com.nvidia.web.NVDAGK100HalWeb 10.1.1 com.nvidia.web.NVDAResmanWeb 10.1.1 com.symantec.nfm.kext 7.1.2f94 com.symantec.ips.kext 7.1.2f94 com.symantec.internetSecurity.kext 7.1.2f94 com.apple.iokit.SCSITaskUserClient 3.7.7 com.apple.driver.AppleUSBStorageCoexistentDriver 3.7.1 com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch 90.3 com.apple.driver.AppleHWSensor 1.9.5d0 com.apple.filesystems.autofs 3.0 com.apple.driver.AGPM 110.22.0 com.apple.driver.ApplePlatformEnabler 2.6.0d0 com.apple.driver.X86PlatformShim 1.0.0 com.apple.driver.AudioAUUC 1.70 com.apple.driver.AppleMikeyHIDDriver 124 com.apple.driver.AppleOSXWatchdog 1 com.apple.driver.AppleMikeyDriver 274.12 com.apple.driver.AppleHDA 274.12 com.apple.driver.pmtelemetry 1 com.apple.driver.AppleUpstreamUserClient 3.6.1 com.apple.iokit.IOUserEthernet 1.0.1 com.apple.iokit.IOBluetoothSerialManager 4.4.6f1 com.apple.driver.AppleIntelHD4000Graphics 10.1.4 com.apple.Dont_Steal_Mac_OS_X 7.0.0 com.apple.driver.AppleHV 1 com.apple.driver.AppleBacklight 170.8.9 com.apple.iokit.BroadcomBluetoothHostControllerUSB Transport 4.4.6f1 com.apple.driver.AppleSMCLMU 208 com.apple.driver.AppleThunderboltIP 3.0.8 com.apple.driver.AppleLPC 3.1 com.apple.driver.AppleIntelSlowAdaptiveClocking 4.0.0 com.apple.driver.AppleMCCSControl 1.2.13 com.apple.driver.AppleIntelFramebufferCapri 10.1.4 com.apple.AppleFSCompression.AppleFSCompressionTyp eDataless 1.0.0d1 com.apple.AppleFSCompression.AppleFSCompressionTyp eZlib 1.0.0 com.apple.BootCache 38 com.apple.iokit.IOAHCIBlockStorage 2.8.5 com.apple.driver.AppleSDXC 1.7.0 com.apple.iokit.AppleBCM5701Ethernet 10.2.0

FREIBURG, Germany, July 16, 2015 –Paragon Software Group, the technology leader in data security and data management solutions, today announces the release of Paragon NTFS for Mac® 14 Preview. Paragon NTFS for Mac® 14 Preview provides full read and write access to Windows-formatted NTFS partitions on OS X. Paragon NTFS for Mac 14 Preview is available for immediate download, without registration, to all Mac enthusiasts testing Apple’s OS X El Capitan Preview. All users who purchased NTFS for Mac OS X 12 will get a free upgrade to Paragon NTFS for Mac 14 when the commercial version is released.
To ensure a higher level of security, the new release by Apple delivers a new protection feature. System Integrity Protection prevents modifications to certain system files, folders and processes. This protects components on disk and at run-time, only allowing system binaries to be modified by the system installer and software updates. Code injection and runtime attachments to system binaries are no longer allowed. Paragon NTFS for Mac 14 is fully compatible with Apple’s new security policy ensuring fast, hassle-free and safe access to NTFS partitions from the new Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan Preview.
Once the program is installed, the user can get started right away: conveniently navigate contents and read, edit, copy or create files and folders. The program guarantees advanced support of NTFS file systems and provides fast and transparent read/write access to any NTFS partition under OS X 10.11 Preview. Paragon has been the leader in cross-platform storage software for 20 years, delivering proven maximum performance, stability and security for cross-platform work between Mac®, Windows® and other operating systems.
Key functions:
* Only runs with Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan Preview.
* Ultra-quick read/write access to NTFS files in Mac OS X El Capitan.
* No limit to file or partition sizes (within NTFS and Mac OS X constraints).
* Supports special NTFS functions in Mac OS X El Capitan such as resource forks, hardlinks, symlinks and file permissions (POSIX file attribute).
* The transfer rate during file operations on NTFS partitions is just as good as it is for operations on native HFS partitions.
* Unparalleled stability – even during peak system utilization!
* Simply install it and go to work. No further system adjustments are necessary once it has been installed.
